Okay, so I’ve finally made the decision to not host my own stuff.

For the most part during the years, I’ve had a Freebsd catchall machine that served as most of what i needed. WWW/SMTP (antispam/antivirus) and various other things I’ve hosted such as subversion back when i was at Uni. Now that I’m really looking at something more stable and hassle-free, I’ve got the spare cashola to get something half decent and move it all off my home link. I’ve also decided to start slaving better connected primary/secondary DNS hosts to further decrease the reliance on my current single connection. So, for now – I have far less to worry about when I start moving machines around, and out. With luck I’ll have a flexible infrastructure in the end that i can manipulate as per situation demands it.
