Well.
Been awhile since I updated, eh. Been a very busy boy - all of my course classes have finished, and I’m wrapping up the last of my Cisco classes next week. I have my very scary skills test and 2nd half of the TCS due then, so I’m rushing around like a madman fitting in prac time wherever I can. The skills test is the big clincher though - tests all of my skills I’ve built up on the routers since 2nd semester, including troubleshooting ( apparently my teacher kicks me out once I’ve finished and breaks something, then I have to go find it )

The TCS shouldn’t be TOO difficult - just need to add in WAN components to the first half that I did awhile back.

The top 10 Things Leif needs to do before New Year ™ :

  1. Pass the Cisco Semester 4 Skills test with flying colors, and buy his lecturer some decent scotch
  2. Pass the Cisco Semester 4 Threaded Case study with flying colors, then steal some of the aforementioned scotch
  3. Buy Christmas presents for his family
  4. Buy Christmas presents for his friends ( <3 you guys )
  5. Survive Christmas without having each and every family member berate him about his labret piercing
  6. Survive Christmas. Full stop.
  7. Figure out where the money is going to come from to buy his next PC
  8. Earn said money
  9. Stop worrying about his uni application
  10. Get a hair cut

I have ADSL now. Fun. Oh, and I’ve already gotten my first bill from Telstra, great. They make me wait on my DSL provisioning, but can get their bills in early. Funny how that works. In any case, I’ve got the router and stuff all working nicely - the DSL modem draws a fair bit of current, so I’ve had to fuck about with the UPS and power distribution, but eh, its all working nicely now.

I also have a new phone. Nokia 7250i. It’s charging right now, so I can’t play with it, which sucks, but oh well, my current 6210 has lasted me quite well for the last 18 months, is in excellent condition too ( /pimp ). Might sell it to my sister or something, or if you guys wanna buy it, make me an offer ;)
