So. Back to uni it is.
Monday morning 9am start. IE project. Got all the details for that, which was all fun and games, but i really felt like the black sheep, i’m one of the few members that has very strong programming skills, and i know virtually nobody, and the rest of the class has groups pre-prepared. I think i’ll just change tutes and get together with Benny and Neale, and find us some decent analysis/design people. Found out that with the load the IE project gives, i’ve got a roughly 56+ hour week as far as workload is concerned. Thats going to freakin *KILL* me.
Other than that, there was pleanty of hustle and bustle, with all the attractions on the common, including scantily clad nubile 18 year old 1st years. Was pleanty of eye candy to be had. Us final year students sat back with years of bitterness behind us and lamented the time when we were so naive and carefree.
Finally paid a few bills off too, and tomorrow, i should be pretty debt-free, for when my car repairs come in *groan*. Not going to be a happy chappy when i get the bad news there.
Tired, i’ve eaten so much today, and im still HUNGRY. Whats up with that.
Oh, and did i mention i hated 9am starts?
Been a muchos busy boy.
Helped the lovely Juliet and Christopher George grab stuff from Geelong yesterday - was quite a trip. Borrowed one of Dad’s delivery vans and trodded off down to one of Juliet’s friends’ to go grab her stuff that was loaned over a year ago. As i’d previously told Chris - the majority of the stuff fitted well inside the van, and the leftover stuff including the washing machine was piled into his hatchback and back off to Melbourne we drove.
Of course, by this time, it was the beginnings of peak hour, however i had Juliet as company ( as just a plain radio and a packed van is not much company at all ), so things went rather peachy.
I’ve also booked my precious baby in for a service next Thursday - and to my delight i’ve found that my timetable is going to favor it going in then, which takes a load off regarding what I was going to do if i had to skip classes so early. Going to get as much as I can done, and of course spend the next few months paying it all off. I definately need that LPG working again - its too costly not to, especially on my budget.
Glad that my sleeping patterns are sorting themselves out - apart from now, of course. I did wake up with a splitting headache though - I’m just waiting till the disprin kicks in then i’ll go back to bed and wake up and have lunch and whatnot with Sof tomorrow.
Signing off..
It seems that lately i’ve gone on a big movie spree.
Maybe something to do with the fact that im bored out of my skull during this holiday period and seek entertainment, I think.
Either way - Danny, Ian and myself watched Cinderella Man and The Jacket last night at Ian’s place. Both movies i really enjoyed. Cinderella Man wasn’t quite what i expected, and had much more of a thicker plot than its given credit for. The movie really did well showing what life in the 1930’s great depression was like.
The Jacket was described by Ian (who had previously seen it) as a ‘wierd movie’. That, I must agree with. It sure was a hard movie to get a handle on at start, but slowly it was pieced together from the various storylines it contained. Got boobie ™ from Keira Knightley, so all is good ;P
Saw “Kung Fu Hustle” tonight with Chris, Juliet, Danny and Sof.
Was a great laugh and a half, which is a pleasent change from movies that are just mediocre. Some of the CG effects were really quite tacky, but the manner in which the film took itself in a humorous light made it all the more forgivable.
Sof wasnt too pleased at having to endure the slapstick humor that Kung Fu Hustle presented, and I think im going to owe her for dragging her along. Oh well
I’ve decided that i’ll finally attempt to clean up my car tomorrow. Quite overdue, but my windscreen is a little murky and im getting sick and tired of it. Might even replace my bumper ( shock horror i know, but meh ).
Went and saw memoirs of a geisha tonight.
Was well worth it - some of the scenes were absolutely gorgeous. Althought i’ve never read the book, by all accounts its a worthwhile read. For those of you who have - i heard it isnt quite the same, whether or not thats a good thing i dont know, but i still really enjoyed the movie.
In other news - the kitties are slowly learning to cope with each other. Calvin of course is obvlivious, yet still rather curious to this other hissing cat, and Cleo still is a bit stand-offish, but is allowing him closer and closer. Sister said that they were napping together the other day, but i’ve yet to see that myself.
