A review of the SEGA toys gadget, Homestar - as seen posted on Slashdot can be read here. A gadget that takes cdrom-like discs and then projects an image of the night sky ( including rotation ) upon any surface such as a wall or a roof. Is it just me, or this just an uber-cool thing to have? I remember back in my younger days those glow in the dark sticker sets that I was never allowed to have. This funky little machine takes all of that one step further - without the requirement to leave your bedroom light on for 45 minutes beforehand. Whilst quite expensive ( 239$USD - eep! ) the quality of the image projected seems to be well worth the money. I’m not sure about the EXTRA 80$USD for Southern hemisphere skies, but all in all, if i had the cash, and the desire to fall asleep to an image of a night sky above i’d definately be looking in that direction.

DC Marketing woes
So, I was idling on irc as I normally do, when someone pasted a link to http://www.4wisemonkeys.com/dc-phone-scam/ . It seems there’s be a fair number of other people who have had this company prank call their mobile phones to scam them into calling a 1-900 number ( which of course is stupidly expensive ) claiming they have won a prize.
This my learned friends, earns them their moolah. Quite a sneaky way to scam people into calling the number.
The reason I post this is because out of curiosity, I checked my missed calls list. Surprisingly, I had not one, but THREE missed calls from various numbers on that list. I dont think i’ve had one recently, but I’m not too surprised - I’ve had the same number for going on 8 or 9 years now.
As for those of you who wish to find out for yourself, I’ll list the phone numbers here in case 4WM have to take their stuff down for any crazy reason.
Decided to take my SLR to uni and had a bit of a sneak up to the 10th story of the new building. Whilst up there in the freezing wind on this foggy day, i took a number of photos, including this:

S’been awhile since i’ve actually made a deviant submission, but there you go. Enjoy.
X3
Went to see X3 last night with Sofie. She had some La Premiere tickets and a food voucher to spend so we decided to go see it in style.
Wasnt too bad - apart from the lame-ass 15 year old in the hat in front of me. Stupid kids. Although - I was quite pleasantly surprised when the food they served both Sofie and I was quite well good tasting. I expected a half-arse effort for a big movie chain, but it wasnt actually too bad at all.
Other Things ™ are just happily plodding along. My sleeping patterns are royally up shit creek again, which is not good. Got a lot of work in IE ahead of me though. Also - exams looming. I’m actually not too unprepared for them as i normally am. One is unix.. so i’ll breeze that one. One is for IE, which i hope to also breeze. The other two are unknwons but i’m confident of one of them.. the other is C++ in which im going to hope and pray i know enough to pass.
